How to build a Spring Capsule Wardrobe
Building my Spring Capsule Wardrobe has been a long process; it has taken me years to have all the essential pieces needed in a Capsule Wardrobe. There have been ups and downs, and sometimes I had to replace an item because the first one didn’t have the highest quality.
Building a Capsule Wardrobe is very personal as it needs to fit your lifestyle and the weather where you live. But now I am happy to say I have a functional Spring Capsule Wardrobe with all the essentials I need.
The items and ideas below are part of a Spring Capsule Wardrobe based on my taste & style and are perfect for European weather. I linked all the pieces I already have in my closet and others at various price points.

MY SPRING CAPSULE WARDROBE 2023
BASIC TOPS
These are perfect layering pieces, so for me, they are a must-have in any Spring Capsule Wardrobe, whether you have an 8 to 5 office job or are a staying-home mom. You can wear them under shirts, blazers, and blouses. I have them in many colors for Spring and Summer. Plus, right now, they are very much in fashion.
TSHIRTS
A classic T-shirt is the hero of every Capsule wardrobe because you can use them in all seasons as an extra layer to keep you warm, under a blazer as a stylish element, and on its own elevated with a statement necklace or broch, I prefer heavy-weight T-shirts, and for me, the best ones are from Cos and Arket.
SHIRTS
Classic white or light blue shirts are the best to include in your Spring Capsule Wardrobe, as these colors will transition perfectly from Spring to Summer. I also like to add a striped light blue shirt as it will bring more variety to my capsule wardrobe.
I like to wear cotton shirts for spring, and when is getting closer to summer, I will start using linen shirts. I have a small shirts collection, and I use them so much because they are so versatile.
STRIPED KNITTS
As striped shirts, striped knits will add versatility to my Spring Capsule Wardrobe and some texture to my outfits as I have a very neutral color palette. I own a few of them, I am currently loving my cropped one from The Franky Shop, and I wish they would make this one without the Turtleneck so I could use it in the late spring as well.
CARDIGANS
I get so much wear out of cardigans in spring and all seasons other than summer. They work great on top of tank tops, t-shirts, and bodysuits. Over the shoulders, or sometimes I use them as a top, closing all the buttons. And that is why I have a few cardigans in my Spring Capsule wardrobe, as they are great layering pieces.
BLAZER
Spring is my favorite season when it comes to fashion. I get to use all of my blazers even though I use blazers the entire year, regardless of the season. In spring, I manage to wear all fabrics and shapes of blazers. And that is why in my Spring Capsule wardrobe is not only one but a few Blazers.
CROPPED JACKETS
For my spring capsule wardrobe, it is essential to include cropped jackets, especially the tweed fabric type, as these will always look smart, casual, and more put together.
TRENCH COAT
It is so easy to wear a Trench coat because you can wear even a casual outfit, and throwing a trench coat will instantly elevate the look. There are many variations of a Trench Coat for your Spring Capsule wardrobe. I suggest getting one with the classic Trench coat details, made with a waterproof beige/khaki tone color fabric, double-breasted, and a classic collar with wide lapels and buttons at the front. My current one is new from the brand & Other Stories and is perfect.
STRAIGHT-LEG JEANS
A Spring Capsule Wardrobe isn’t complete without a classic blue denim pair of jeans. Even though I only wear jeans occasionally, I like to include them in my capsule wardrobe because they work with many different outfit styles and footwear. This year I also always add a beige pair of jeans to my Capsule wardrobe. These are high-rise straight-leg jeans, a silhouette that gives me a 90’s vibe, and I love them.
Because cargo trousers are one of the most popular Fashion Trends for 2023, I am reaching out more for a pair of denim cargo jeans as they are very comfortable and stylish. I found these at Asos.
TAILORED TROUSERS
I own many tailored pairs of trousers. But when I go to the store or shop online, I am tempted to get more trousers. I’m obsessed! To the point that sometimes I have to force myself to wear a skirt or a dress. I think Trousers are a great piece to include in your Spring Capsule Wardrobe because, in the early spring, we can still have some cold and rainy days. Trousers will make us look well dressed at the same time, protects from the weather.
CARGO LINEN TROUSERS
MIDI SKIRTS
I always include denim-mini skirts in my Spring Capsule wardrobe, but this year long denim skirts are another big Fashion Trend, so I included one in this year capsule wardrobe, and I am in love with this trend. I can see myself also wearing these skirts in the summer with flat sandals and sneakers, denim is always in fashion, so I think they are worth the investment.
SILK SKIRT & DRESS
A silk skirt and dress are great for your Spring capsule wardrobe because of their versatility and soft material. Silk is the perfect fabric to transition from spring to summer, as it is breathable and will adapt to your body temperature. I recently got the most beautiful silk dress and skirt from Lily Silk, and I am so happy to have upgraded my satin skirt and slip dress for these new high-quality pieces.
SPRING CAPSULE WARDROBE SHOES & ACCESSORIES
BLACK BAG
A black bag is a staple for all wardrobes, regardless of the season. You can incorporate a black bag into your Spring Capsule Wardrobe, as it is perfect to wear with all your neutral pieces. I recently got a very nice one from Cos. This bag has good quality as it is 100% leather, and you can wear it on the shoulder or as a crossbody. The strap is adjustable, and it has a reasonable price tag.
BEIGE BAG
A beige bag is an item you can wear the entire year. And it is the most versatile piece to add to your Spring Capsule Wardrobe. The one I have been using for two years is the Coach Tabby 26 with gold hardware, I love this bag with the aged gold hardware, and I think it has the perfect tone of cream. In my opinion, this bag is one of the best affordable, good-quality bags out there.
BELTS
Black and brown belts are great additions to your Spring Capsule Wardrobe as these are perfect to wear with jeans, trousers, and over dresses and blazers. Plus, you can wear them not only in spring but the entire year as well. These ones with a knot tie will give a touch of interest to any outfit.
STRAPPY HIGH HEEL SANDALS
I think strappy heels are another essential to have in your Spring Capsule Wardrobe, you can wear them for day and evening looks, and they are also the perfect shoes to bring on holidays. That’s why I like to invest in a good-quality pair of heels to be sure they are very comfortable to walk with. I have two pairs of sandals, black and white, and I wear them with all my looks for Spring and Summer.

LOAFERS
I prefer to wear a pair of sneakers, but when I want to look more put together, I will wear a black pair of loafers like the ones below. These are 100% leather and have pointy toes and a gold equestrian buckle at the front, which makes them more elegant. These are very comfortable, buttery soft loafers, and if you are, looking to add a pair of new loafers to your Spring Capsule Wardrobe, I highly recommend these. I also have beige and brown loafers, and I use them for all my Spring and Summer looks.
If you are not into loafers, your might want to look into ballet flats, as they work the same as loafers and are a huge trend this year. Find my choices below.
SNEAKERS
My Spring Capsule Wardrobe is not complete without a pair of classic trainers. I have a few pairs of sneakers, but my Spring favorites for 2023 are the New Balance 327. These trainers are not only good looking and very stylish, but they are super comfortable. These are my second pair, and I love them.
Another pair of sneakers I recommend adding to your Spring Capsule Wardrobe is the Veja Campo or V12, as these are also very comfortable and work with most outfit styles.

CONCLUSION
I think that when it comes the Spring Capsule Wardrobe, is best to invest a little bit more to get higher-quality pieces to be sure they will stay in my wardrobe for many years.
